Laura Downs is the president of Morrison Downs Associates, Inc. a consulting firm specializing in community and system change initiatives for children, youth and families; non-profit organizational capacity building; and strategic planning. The firm is known for its problem-solving approach customized to the need of individual clients and for managing complex, multi-site projects that require collaborative efforts among diverse sectors within a community change and policy framework.
Laura was an Assistant Regional Program Director for the Department of Children and Families, and a Senior Associate with the Annie E. Casey Foundation. She was Director of Programs for the Community Foundation of Greater New Haven, and a Senior Associate for several national consulting firms. Laura began working with Attendance Works in 2012 as the Connecticut liaison for the national Campaign for Grade Level Reading and has been a Senior Fellow for Attendance Works since 2015.
