Policy on the Use of Name, Logo and Materials
We want to make it easy for appropriate use and distribution of our materials by educators and nonprofits. In keeping with this philosophy, many of the materials provided by Attendance Works, including our District and School Attendance Tracking Tools, are available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 4.0 International license (the “License”). Please note that you may not use our materials for commercial purposes. You may not use our materials except in compliance with the License. You may obtain a copy of the License at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/.
Consistent with the License, our philosophy is guided by the following principles.
Educators, community organizations and other nonprofits can download and disseminate our free materials without first contacting Attendance Works as long as credit is given to Attendance Works, either by using our logo and/or a line stating “used with permission from Attendance Works.” Our express permission to use our materials is found in the License (see paragraph at top of page).
If you wish to add your logo in addition to the credit to Attendance Works, please use these instructions.
The materials can be reformatted (i.e., no changes to the text, images or other content) as long as credit is given to Attendance Works, either by using our logo and/or a line stating “used with permission from Attendance Works.”
Authorization via email is required prior to any modification of the text, images or other content of our materials.* We reserve the right to review any and all changes before granting permission, as well as the right to deny use of the materials if we do not accept the changes.
Note that this permission does not extend to materials owned by other organizations that allow us to link to their resources. Please contact those organizations directly.
Consistent with the License, our materials are offered as-is and as-available, and we make no representations or warranties of any kind concerning our materials, whether express, implied, statutory, or other.

Attendance Works is occasionally asked to endorse commercial products that assist schools in monitoring and addressing absenteeism. As a policy, Attendance Works does not endorse commercial products or allow use of its name or logo on the websites or materials of commercial products. Commercial vendors can direct their clients to our free online data tools and handouts through links to our website, but cannot charge for the use of our materials.
Consistent with our mission to advance attendance policy and practice, we include news and information on federal, state and local policy trends, research on chronic absence, and effective practices. Our Success Stories page includes programs that have proven records of success in improving attendance and student achievement.
